Hey guys, I’ve been using particular for a little while and I recently saw this video https://www.trapcode.com/gallery/suddenly_h264.mov and really loved the synchronized particles with the sound. Just curious as to what would be the best way of achieving this effect? I would really love to know. Would expressions be involved in driving the particles? Or is it all within the camera movements?

    Glad to hear any suggestions!

    Thanks in advance, Eugene

I’m not seeing any unique with the particles.

As for the speed ramps, keyframing or Expressions or a combination of both is what you’re looking at. Trapcode also has SoundKeys which picks up an audio spectrum from which you can link to wind or speed of the particles.

With such an effect, you often want to know what your minimum and maximum values are – for the parameter that you are linking to.

    Absolutely beautiful video.

That could be done a couple of ways. You could keyframe the camera’s motion to match the sound (using Soundkeys, as Roland mentioned, might work for this, but I think it might be done more by hand). But I think they rendered out all of their different shots and then the timing of the final rendered shots was animated in an editing program.
