    When I load a long clip into the viewer window and mark an in point, I would like to drop that clip into my timeline beginning at that in point.
    I know I can scrub through the clip in the comp window, but an 8 minute source clip takes a while to scrub in a 30 second comp!

    You can trim a footage item in the Footage panel to do what you describe.

    Thanks, Todd. It’s the putting it in the comp first that is the step I was missing. Double-click on the layer in the comp window, then adjust it in the viewer window.
