  using mixer with matrox mini

  I am using media composer(software only) on a mac along with matrox mini for I/O. Right now, my audio is coming out of matrox via left/right RCA jacks directly into the speakers. I want to use a stand alone mixer/volume control, so I got the m-audio mobilePre. MobilePre works fine when it is selected in the MAC sound preferences, and I play something in iTunes. In that case, the audio bypasses Matrox and goes out via usb into MobilePre. However, it doesn’t seem compatible with media composer.
  MobilePre is usb powered.
  Can I channel the audio from the matrox audio outs to m-audio mobilePre and then to the speakers?
