  • Using Magic Bullet coloring plugin (Looks) causes FLASHING on the clip

Posted by Joe Bags on November 27, 2016 at 12:39 am

I reopened the a film project on a new computer. I re-installed the Magic Bullet plugins for Premiere Pro on the new computer.

Now when I go through the timeline, anything with Magic Bullet Looks starts flashing. I toggled the effect on and off, and it appeared the flashing of color is tied to the plug in.

Does anyone know why this might be? Very close to exporting but cannot export with this problem.

Had something similar happen a long time ago (when I was on fcp7).

Never found a solution, but disabling the “auto-levels” in the effects chain removed the flickering.

Stopped using MBL because of that.

Hope I’m not past your delivery.

Something similar happened to me, I fixed it by going to Project settings>Video rendering and effects and switched from Mercury software only to GPU Acceleration.

It seems the plugin Looks requires GPU acceleration to run smoothly.
