Using laptop HDMI output with ATEM switcher
Posted by James Dow on June 18, 2019 at 3:48 pmI can’t get the ATEM to recognize laptops connected via HDMI. Any suggestions as to what the issue might be? I’m just trying to mix powerpoint slides with several cameras.
Thanks,

June 18, 2019 at 6:58 pmOK, so it looks like the system needs to be set to 59.97i…..I see the laptop but now I can’t see the 2 Sony A7s cameras.
Can I use these cameras with some sort of convertor in line? Thanks,

June 19, 2019 at 7:47 pmYour ATEM is set at 1080i59.94?
All inputs have to match that. Cameras should be able to do that. Try the changing the setting to what it records, such as AVCHD setting, or the MOV setting.
You can use a Blackmagic Design UpDownCross converter.
You can also use PowerPoint for lower thirds and animated titles using the SimpleSupers.com app.

June 20, 2019 at 2:18 pmThanks Kevin. I just ordered several of the UpDownCross convertors, so we’re on the same page. Thanks for the tip about SimpleSupers. I’ll check it out.

June 20, 2019 at 2:24 pmI forgot to mention….I set the system to 1080i59.94 because that seemed to be the only setting that was recognizing the laptop via one of the HDMI inputs. The SONY cameras don’t have that setting as an output option.
Thanks,
