Hi. I posted this in the HDV forum also, but this forum seems to be more responsive.

I have some tape shot on the 250 in SD, anamorphic, 24p, 16:9. Can I make this camera output the video (I don’t care which output) as letterboxed, 4:3 for digitizing into my old Media 100 system? I’ve been playing with the menu but can’t get the letterbox to happen.

    Thanks.

H would be very surprised if that would be possible. I could imagine that a HD->SD downconvert to a letterboxed version would be possible, but a SD 16:9->4:3 cross conversion would be very unusual.

Hi Floh. Thanks – I was afraid that might be the answer. I’ll give it a couple of hours and see if I get a hot tip. If not, I’ll just scale it in RED.
