I am using a lot of JPGs in my documentary and there is consistently a jump in the frame when dissolving between photos. Any thoughts as to why. Is it the Jpg codec? Should I do something to them or not use them at all?

Depends on your render settings and where you’re viewing the output. Things will look different on a video monitor than on your display.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Nothing to do with the codec — make certain that you have everything checked in the render drop down including FULL.
