  • Using iPhone video in existing fcp7 sequence with different frame rate

I’d like to use iphone video in a sequence that has 7d video (23.98fps), prores422. I’ve tried converting the iphone video to prores422 but the playback looks choppy in the sequence. Can someone advise on the best way to convert the iphone video for a 7d sequence?

    Thanks, JC

The iPhone shoots 30fps…don’t even think it does 29.97, it does 30. Converting 30p to 24p will be choppy if you do it in FCP. Even with compressor it might be a little better, but not really smooth. For best options, use After Effects or premiere Pro

Used compressor to convert video from iPhone 4s to FCP 7 — Apple/formats/Apple Pro Res 422LT – Audio: passthrough – enabled
    Linear PCM/Steroe/48.00
    Yes to adjust settings

Everything looks good, but I can’t use any video transitions or motion control
