  • Using illustrator files within AFX

I recieved some illustrator files for a project i’m working on and in illustrator the artwork goes outside the document artboard but when i import the file into AFX the whole file shows up!

though when i draw illustrator files in my version of illustrator outside the artboard and import into AFX, it crops my files to the art board, how can i make my illustrator files read outside the artboard in AFX.

    i’m using CS2 and AFX 6.5

also my illustrator files inside after effects show up with jaggy edges ll the time, is the way to solve that by selecting continuesly rasterise in the time line, cause i have done that but it does not seem to make much difference!

    thanks

Has to do with the settings you choose for your file (PDF compliant or not and so on).

Well, that of course only works for vector elements. Bitmap elements embedded in your file will not benefit from that. You need to import them separately in AE and place them where they should be. Also some artsy stroke types never seem to work that way.
