    Hi,

Some of this may have already been discussed, but I just need a few things clarified before I commit to the HVX200. Here’s what I need to know:

    1. If I bought the HVX200, but didnt buy any p2 cards, would I be able to capture DVCPRO compressed 720p24 footage direct-to-FCP?

    2. If so, is that something that could be done through normal firewire, or would I need some external device or capture card?

    3. Would I be able to capture DVCPRO 720p48 or DVCPRO 720p60?

    4. Would I need a particularly fast hard-drive to capture DVCPRO 720p24,48,60 footage?

    5. To put it another way, what is the cheapest hardware config to capture DVCPRO 720p24,48,60 footage direct to disk, assuming I don’t need to leave the confines of my studio.

    -Thanks alot,

    Jon

yes, but that is the slowest way to acquire footage from the camera

the “Capture Now” in FCP will accomplish that but the footage will be at 59.94 fps and need to be run the software FRC which will extract the flagged frames. –this will be easier when the Firestore FS100 and other units ship around march.

( this also answers the other 2 questions)
