Until I get a Media 100 HD system I’m thinking about using a Media 100sw equipped G5 quadcore with 2 internal 500GB SATA drives booted as a Firewire target to digitize from M100i on a G4 dual 500 with 1 GB RAM.

Yeah HD Suite although it’s overkill at this time. Of course, a dual 500 G4 with 1GB of RAM was overkill for me back in 1999.

Thanks for the tip about booting to a striped drive – I’ll check it out. Seems like I’ve heard that the target disk is the system disk also, so striped may not work as a target disk if it can’t be the system disk.
