    Hello All,

I just switched from FCP7 to Premiere CS6 and I’m loving it for the most part. It seems like it’s almost FCP8, which is fantastic. A few questions, though, that are bogging down my workflow.

    1. In FCP, we use a lot of Freeze Frames to extend graphics. The workflow for this would be, cut the graphic into two pieces, double-click on the first half of the clip, press shift+N to put the frame in the viewer, then drag it from the viewer into the sequence where we want the freeze frame, and adjust there as necessary. In Pr CS6, I can still do Shift+N, but it exports the frame to the finder, adding a bunch of time to the workflow. I also tried “Hold Frame”, but that leads to problems when I’m adjusting the in and out points of the “still”. Is there any way to make it work more like FCP7? The speed with which we could make and apply the freeze frames is crucial to our workflow.

    2. In FCP7, to increase or decrease an audio level, you just had to select an audio clip and use control+[ or control+ ]. Is there a comparable shortcut in Premier? I searched through the keyboard shortcuts and it looks like there’s nothing that does that. I guess I have to open the audio mixer and adjust it there every time?

    Thanks!
