  • Using footage in After Effects that was captured from FCP 5…shows white

There was HDV footage captured on a box that has FCP 5. I only have FCP 4.5 and I need to take the footage and bring it into After Effects. I assume that I don’t have the correct codec or something.

Is there somthing that I can download so that I can view that footage in After Effects? Is there another process that I woul dneed to go through?

    Thanks
    Josh

You will need QuickTime 7 in order to view HDV on your computer. I just checked, and HDV works in AE 6.5 running on Tiger.

A workaround would be to either buy QT7Pro and export an image sequence, or get the guy that has FCP5 to do it for you. Then pull the image sequence into AE and run with it.
