I purchased a movie from a stock image source and want to use it in After Effects. The problem is that the movie is a flash file. So what downloaded was a flash timeline and and SWF movie. Neither of which can import successfully into AE. How do I convert this file. I have Flash but don’t really use it. I tried exporting the movie as a QT and it will open and play in QT but if I bring it into AE it only plays the first few frames. Can anyone help? Should I post this on a Flash forum? thanks so much.

You could import a .swf file in AE.
But keyframed animation is the only thing that can be imported. Your file has to be published to suit a Flash Player 5.
