  • Using FCPX to search for BMCC metadata

    Hello,

First post here so hello everyone!

I was led to believe by a blackmagic tech guy over the phone that if, whilst shooting with the BMCC, I change the clip ID within the camera metadata (exteriors, interviews etc) then I would easily be able to search through my footage once imported into FCPX.

Following this advice I spent a 6 day shoot meticulously organising everything with clip ID’s on the camera. I am now in front of the computer and can’t find a way to search through the clip ID’s on FCPX and also can’t seem to find any advice on how to do so or if it is even possible.

Is anyone able to help or have I now got mountains of unorganised footage?

    Hello Tim!

Question – if you select a clip in the browser, are you able to see your entries in the inspector’s Info pane (with Extended option selected)?
