I have an eight Core mac and I’m using OS X Mavericks. Final Cut three studio seems to be working fine and is stable. I know it’s not optimized for that OS. I may go the route of FCP X soon. Is it advisable to run FCP studio and FCP X on the same operating system

Compartmentalize: create dual-boot versions in independent boot drive partitions.

BTW, Yosemite seems to be creating problems for certain non-apple SSD drives, related to TRIM management. OWC has the details on it.
