Using Expressions to Control Render Queue Parameters
Hi There,
I need some help with expressions to try and speed up my rendering.
I have a project with a number of comps in it and inside each comp there is say 20+ audio files and some animation on separate layers.Currently my rendering process is: manually set the Work Area to the length of an audio file layer, select the layer and copy the layer name, then add the comp with that time span to the Render Queue. After that I select my destination and paste the layer name for the Output and hit Render. I’ve gotten rather quick at this but am looking at a few thousand files coming my way in the future.
What I would like to do is select a layer, click a button, and let an expression do all of the work for me…any suggestions?

Expressions won’t help you, but a script could. Unfortunately, I don’t know of a canned version out there that does exactly what you need.
It wouldn’t be hard to write one, but it could be challenging if you haven’t done it before.
