Using Channel>3D Glasses in AE 6.5
Hi all
I am having a bit of trouble getting the desired effect in AE with the 3D Glasses effect. I have some footage of a band and I want to create some shots where the background is seen as normal video but the band appear as B&W anaglyphs. So far I have gone this route:
1 Create a comp with the Tinderbox two tone newsprint effect applied.
2 Place comp 1 into a new comp and use masks to separate the band members from the rest of the footage.
3 I drop the original footage behind the masked layer; Newsprint band members on normal background, so far so good.
4 When I apply the 3D Glasses effect to the newsprint layer I choose the newsprint comp as the source for each view. I want to use Balanced Coloured Red/Blue as this gives the best result (B&W image with the red/blue offsets). The problemis that all of the balanced options seemto force a black background in the newsprint layer, cutting off the background layer.
The non balanced r/b r/g options don’t force the black background but cause a tint to the white areas.
Anyone got any advice?
Thanks
John
