We are running CatDV 9 on an all Mac environment and it has been working great, I am now trying to change it to a mixed enviroment with some PC clients and I am running into the problem that all of the clips on the PC client are offline. I am assuming this is beacuse the media path shows /Volumes/ which is the correct path for a mac but PC’s oporate from drive letters like (V:). My question is can catdv work in a mixed enviroment? If so how do I change the media path on my PC’s without affecting my Mac’s?

    Hello Eli,

Yes, CatDV works very well in a mixed environment. If you add a path mapping from

    /Volumes/yourvolumename to V:

you mac clients should not be affected, they will still find the clips in /Volumes/yourvolumename.

If you start importing clips from the Windows side, they will be cataloged as V: so you will need the reverse mapping (V: to /Volumes/yourvolumename) for your mac clients to find those Windows imported clips.

    Cheers,
