Using Canon PF24 with Sony Vegas 12
Posted by Rob Cioffi on March 21, 2015 at 5:17 pmI’m trying to use PF24 (AVCHD) footage for a 24p project. Is this possible? I tried converting the footage with Handbrake but some of the ghosting is actually worse. Thanks in advance!
Camera is HF10.

March 22, 2015 at 11:56 amPF24 is wrapped in 29.97 fps. Try using a 29.97 project and just render to 24p at the end. This will give Vegas Pro a change to remove the pulldown. I don’t know if it will do it correctly but it’s worth a shot.

March 22, 2015 at 6:00 pmThanks guys. John the render at 24p did not seem to work. Aaron I will give it a try but what I was hoping for was a 1 step GUI based solution like this one using Handbrake:

Yea, it was worth a shot but I kinda thought it wasn’t regular pull-down. You need program that knows how to deal with this proprietary format.

March 22, 2015 at 7:05 pmThere are some references to Cineform Neoscene being able to do this but it’s no longer available.
