Using camcorder pass-through vs. ADVC device for Sony Vegas capture/external preview

It should be just as good as the ADVC-100 but not as good as the ADVC-300 with TBC. If you weren’t going to spend the money for the ADVC-300 or you don’t need Time Base Correction, then go for it. It should work great.

Thanks John, I did expect that camcorder DV pass-through would perform a bit under the ADVC devices but I do hope that the camera being a 3CCD model, the quality of its converter should be good.

You’re welcome. Lots of people use a DV cameras pass thru for analog conversions so you should be fine.
