Using Cable Ties to Identify A/V Cables
For those of you who are involved with live production you already know identifying your audio / video cables is a must to prevent other vendors from accidentally packing up your stuff. Most people use either colored electrical or gaff tape to identify their cables but after time this can result in the tape adhesive becoming a sticky mess. I recently removed all the tape from my cables, cleaned the area with Goo Gone, and put colored cable ties on them. Once the cable ties are on it’s very important to use a razor knife to cut off and remove the excess cable tie. Make sure you cut it flat or you will cut and scratch your hands on the sharp edges left behind. No more sticky mess and they look neater too.
