  • Using behaviors to create a “puzzle” effect

    Hello,
The problem is this: I have a video clip duplicated in six layers. Each layer is masked off to break the image into different pieces…like a puzzle. What I want to do is begin with the pieces of video scattered across the screen and then return to their original position to complete the “puzzle”.

I know that I can do this by keyframing and plotting each layer’s original x&y coordinates at the final keyframe, but is there some combination of behaviors (i.e., throw, reverse, negate) that can accomplish this task? I (wrongly) assumed that it should be simple as applying a throw and then applying a reverse behavior to the throw behavior… any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Imari

Try using motion paths. In M2 you can even add bezier control points (keyframes) to adjust the shape of the path.

Thanks, Bill and Jim. I guess the play it backwards idea is probably the simplest way to achieve this… why didn’t I think of that?
