  • Using background as texture?

Hi! Could anyone help me out with an issue I’m having?

I’m trying to make a clip where I make bricks rise up from the ground. I want the bricks to “stretch” the sidewalk as they rise up, as if the sidewalk was a carpet and the block was underneath it. How would I use the background texture and put it on the block to achieve this effect?

Here’s what I have right now:

But it doesn’t look like it came out from the sidewalk. The textures I have on those blocks are just a picture of the sidewalk that I took earlier. It doesn’t really match up though.

Thank you to anyone who helps me with this!

You could frontal map the texture on the blocks and then bake the texture, but that will obviously only work for the top surface.
