    Hello everyone,

I’m trying to use Audition to eliminate the vocals from a number of pop/rock songs, in order to create my own karaoke backing tracks – unfortunately, it’s not going too well..

I’ve been using the “Vocal Cut” preset under Channel Mixer, which apparently makes a mono mix with Left=100 and Right=-100%. Most of the time, this has the effect of making the voices sound horribly distorted, and sometimes it leaves them totally unchanged – but it *never* even once eliminated (or at least strongly attenuated) them.

Is there a better method that I can use? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try “Vocal Remove” in the effects favorites. It’s adjustable. Just understand that it wont work if the vocals are not panned center.
