Using an AJA ioHD box to record FCP sequence to DVD on-the-fly
So I’m trying to record a DVD from a Final Cut 7 sequence on-the-fly using an AJA ioHD box. I’ve been told that it’s possible to simply connect the ioHD box to a recordable DVD player via S-Video input, then play down the FCP sequence with the AJA being used for video output, while simultaneously recording to a DVD-R in real time. My sequence consists of XDCAM EX 1080p23.98 footage. Has anyone ever done anything like this before?

Yes, the iohd downconverts in real time.

all you do is set the video out to be down converted to SD, It will have to do out as 29.97i and not 23.98.
