  • Using a Photoshop Swatch/Palette file inside AE?

Posted by Eric Chard on June 25, 2013 at 4:54 am

I’m working on a corporate piece that uses various VERY specific palettes.

To facilitate that, I’ve created and saved Photoshop palettes with their colors.

Works great in PShop, but can I also leverage this effort inside AE? It’d make life easier.

(I’ve never seen any swatches in AE.)

    Thanks!

I have this issue occasionally and here’s my solution and it’s not very elegant. I make a PSD of the branded colors and bring that into AE.

Another method would be to use Adobe Kuler, check out this thread it has some links to information that you might find helpful: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/983994

Have you seen Test Gear by Synthetic Aperture? Really great addition to AE. It has all kinds of stuff swatches, Gamut Display, etc – even has the slice tool (if you have read Steve Wrights book on compositing).

    Cheers!
