Using a 4K -TV- as an InterFace Monitor
Have:
FCPX 10.2
Mac Pro Late 2012 6-core Tower w28GB ram
Yosemite 10.10.5
BlackMagic Design Decklink Extreme 3DForgive if this discussion exists! Could not find a Thread site dealing with equipment here on the Cow…
My old 37″ HD TV I am using (5+ yrs) as a desktop monitor is failing. Thinking of using an inexpensive (under $800) 40-inch-ish 4K consumer TV as the desktop main monitor (NOT color evaluation, I have a Dreamcolor for that).
Any one offer experiences with them? Google searches tell me the Pro should drive it OK, tho I worry about lag/judder with the 24p HD material I shoot. I guess this depends on the TV’s specs.
-Does FCPX interface resize to fit? and look OK?
-normal desktop duties (Mail, photoshop 5, etc) OK?
-plug & play or will I need widgets to make this work?
-suggested models? Like Samsung or LG.
Links to any How-Too or Monitor review sites appreciated!
