Hi all. I’m in the middle of editing a documentary shot in 24PA on a Panasonic DVX100A, in Premiere Pro 1.5 on the Windows platform. All is going well, but I want to add in some B-roll footage. The footage I have is downloaded from the web in MPEG-1 format (it’s public domain and ok to use). The problem I’m having is that because it’s running at 30fps it isn’t running properly in my 24fps 24PA Premiere Project.

I try interpreting the video to 24 (actually 23.976)fps, and this works but then the audio associated with the video is really slow. What I need is a way of getting the 30fps footage to play nicely with my 24PA footage, appearing and sounding as though it’s running at the same speed.

I suspect I’m going to have the same issue when I digitise some other beta SP footage I have.

I guess it might be easier to conform my 24fps video up to 30fps by interpolating it or something but I like the 24 fps look and don’t want to lose it (plus there’s a lot of footage).

I’m sure others must have asked this before but I can’t seem to find anything definitive. Could someone give me some advice?

Sorry for being such a newbie.
