Using 2 separate mics with G-HM440
Hi I apologize if this question was already answered. I have the GZ-HM440 camera and am trying to get two separate channels of audio while recording. Is this possible? The two microphones I have are the Sony ECM-CS10 and the Sony WCS-999. Is there a way to plug attach them each to the camera with their own channel of audio?

Hi Melissa,
From what I can tell your camera has only one audio input jack so attaching two microphones without using a mixer is not a possibility. However you can get a small 2 channel mixer that you route the microphones into, pan one hard left and the other hard right and ouput that into the camera. That way you’ll have one microphone on the left track and one on the right, making it possible to extract them later to edit.

Another possibility would be to get a stereo “Y” adapter from, say, Radio Shack and connect one mike to one sided of the “Y” and the other to the other side.
