I am buying my first 3CCD prosumer camcorder. Someone, whom I don’t know personally, is selling his DVX 100 and AG-DVC 15. I’ll be seeing both cameras soon. Since this is my first time to buy (and use) a prosumer camcorder, can anyone give me some guide on how to assess it, especially the DVX 100. Camcorder repair is expensive here so I can’t risk buying trash.

I haven’t seen an AG DVC 15. Is it better than the DVX 100?

You’d do well (in a addition to responses here) to search the web for product reviews. The one I read on the AG DVC 15 wasn’t too kind, though it was several years old.

For me, given the choice you outlined and my own experience, I’d go with the DVX 100. If it has been taken care of quite well, it should be a good value for you.

Of course, anything (including a bad thing)is possible.

    Cheers,
