Use ProRes 422 to improve my sequence files?
Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I will ask it nonetheless: In using FCP Studio 2, one has access to ProRes 422. With that it mind, can I take a sequence file in a timeline (originally captured via firewire from a DVX100A, shot in 24p, and placed in a 29.97 timeline), and covert this sequence file to ProRes 422, in the hopes of ending up with a better-quality sequence for 1.) color correction and 2.) final conversion via COMPRESSOR for DVD burning? In other words, can I use ProRes 422 to better the quality of my already-captured files (albeit compressed by the DVX100A’s 5:1 compression codec) and to better the quality of my already-made sequences? Thanks!
