use pictures in FCP

I want to use some photos in my FCP project and i am looking for the best format (extension) of the pictures for use them in FCP
My question is how to import pictures files in FCP and keeping the same quality of the pictures after export the project (I will export PAL).

If this is uncompressed PAL then the quality should be good if the images are TIFFs, Photoshops, PNGs and the same frame resolution as the video. If you’re material is DV then this is just not going to happen. DV is a heavily compressed format compared to the original quality of most still images.
