Use of external microphones with my iRiver
I need some help from anyone who uses iRivers. I’ve got an Audio-Technica wired lavalier mic and an Audio-Technica stereo mic. My iRiver records great with the stereo mic. I can monitor the signal and it records just fine. However, when I try to record with the mono lavalier mic it doesn’t record. Whats really strange is that I can monitor the signal with the lavalier plugged in but nothing shows up in the recorded file. Maybe the iRiver doesn’t like a mono mic connector?? Any advice?

You might want to try plugging your mono mic into one of the THESE and then plugging this adapter into your iRiver:

(Ignore that the description says “stereo output into mono input”. It will work fine going the other way.)
