  Use an Expression or not? Make arrows shrink in succession

  I want to make the arrows in this comp shrink one after the other. Every arrow is the same precomp where a simple mask slides back and forth to hide or shrink the arrow. here is a short sample:

  so to make each arrow get hidden or shrink in succession, can I apply some type of time remap or expression to the precomp arrow layers?
