I’m interested in one of these preamps with USB output to use in Premiere. The Centrance Microport Pro has one mic input and the USB output with 24bit and 96khz.

    1. Will these files be recogized by Premeire?
    2. If I have two of these Centrance Microport Pros feeding my notebook at the same time, is there a program that can capture both streams?

Alternatively there are other preamps such as the Sound Devices USBPRE which accepts two mic inputs and has a single 24 bit 48khz USB output(presumable carrying 2 channels of audio).

    3. Will Premiere recognize two separately editable audio tracks from that amp or will it be “mixed” into one track by the preamp.

I use a Mobile PreUSB which I’m pretty sure does the same thing.
What I do is capture the audio first with Audition, do some editing and then import it into Premiere.

You can record directly into Premiere with the audio Mixer, but then editing would be very tough.

If you put two channels into your USB device, they will be mixed together into one channel.

You can buy a Mackie firewire mixer and it will give you discreet channels of audio, but it’s about $600.
