The Behringer BCF2000 ($199.00) works with FCP5 & Tiger. I am just now trying it out, and so far I have it controlling the “mixer faders” in FCP5.
Looks promising. Have not gotten to Sound tools Pro yet.

My only real problem with the BCF2000 is the noise of the faders. I have one on a G5 dual 2.7 and I love it, but it is no mackie control. I have a universal on my Logic/PTHD system and it is by far a much better product, but if $1000 is too much, and you don’t mind the noise, the BCF2000 is a great midi control. Oh, and do upgrade to 1.10 firmware. SysEx is a good mac x midi dump program. much better MCC support.

    Does SysEx work under OSX?

Yup. Download it, and the 1.10 firmware (the BCF displays the firmware # when you turn it on)
Turn on the BCF and make sure your in U-1 to 4. Launch SysEx, drag the 1.10 Sys file to the window.
Press the play button in the upper right. the data will transfer. then turn off and on the BCF holding the second from the left top buttun under the pot. Nc c will be displayed. press exit on the BCF and your ready to go.

Just got an installed a BCF2000. With the 1.07 firmware and greater, it does support Mackie control. So, I have no problem now using with ST Pro and FCP 5. BTW, the bottom 4 buttons are mapped to Rev, Fwd (top row) and Stop, Play (bottom row). Have not yet discovered which button or combination thereof is mapped to record.

i also just installed the Behringer BCF2000 with FCP5.
updating the unit with the above tricks to firmware 1.10 was not a problem,
but i took some research to get the right settings:
the BCF2000 should in be usb mode and with the correct emulation mode : to get the correct emulation mode : press the 4th button right top under the round button ( the text VAL1 is on its right topside) while powering the BCF up. Wait till you see LC and release the button, and you’re set! next time when powering up the BCF will remind its settings.
Add in Finalcutpro menu tools, control surface, the BCF2000 to use it when having the Audio mixer window open.
The motorized faders are a bit noisy when the tough top or bottom, but for less than 200euro, we cannot complain too much 😉 The construction is more robust in real than the photo’s on the internet would indicate.
You have the jkl keys and play on the 4buttons in the right bottom corner, and the top circular controllers give you pan control , the button under them works for muting a track. with the preset buttons you have acces to tracks 9-16, 17- 24,…
We are also doing some tests with the Yamaha O1x, which also seems to work!

    Videoman,

Can you put up a link to the 1.10 firmware?

    VideoMan,

Never mind about the firmware, I got it, and followed your instructions and now it works. What I would like to know is, how did you know all this? It isn’t in the manual at all.
