USB drives as Compressor destination drives
I know that it’s problematic to use USB 2.0 drives as media drives for NLE’s because of the packet vs stream issue. But am I going to experience a significant speed penalty if I use a USB drive as a destination drive for a 1080i ProRes 422 to H264 conversion in compressor? It would seem to me that this would not be an issue due to the non realtime nature of compressor. Would this become an issue if I was to purchase a Matrox Compress HD for my computer? (due to the extremely fast nature of the conversion)
