    Hi,

I’m completely new to this, sorry if this is a newb questions, but wanna make sure I’m not messing anything up. So I got an Ursa Mini for Christmas (this is my first camera) and looked around for some batteries and decided on BCBs ’cause they look simple and affordable enough. Now the question is, they have mounts for both gold and v-mount with matching plates and I’m wondering which one to get / how to properly apply the plates so I can mount the battery.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Will

Edit: Found BCBs at https://www.comparebroadcastbatteries.com/ if anyone’s wondering what they are.

You need to make sure the battery plate is for the URSA camera’s and has the proper molex connector. Blackmagic’s URSA cameras use power input different than other camera companies, so USRA specific plate is needed. I would simply revisit the vendor your camera from and get the proper plate from them.

As for v-mount vs gold mount (also called 3-stud and Anton Bauer mount), there is no difference. If you already are invested in one or the other, then there is a difference. V-Mount seems to have slightly more third party support.

    Thanks Eric!
Didn’t know URSAs need a specific plate for them, definitely wouldn’t want to mess up with that.
I’m not invested in either gold or v-mount, but I only found v-mount plate on Blackmagic’s website, so I guess that decides it.

I would just get the Blackmagic made v-mount battery plate, it about the cheapest one out there (some are double the cost!) and or course will fit.

I just saw this deal and remembered this thread:

I’ve heard good things about Juicebox batteries and this is a great deal on a whole battery solution for the URSA cameras.
