I have built a small western town using illustator files to create 3d buldings. Everything is being rasterized and has lighting and motion blur. And it wont render. I have a feeling it’s a memory isssue but have no idea what or how to fix it. All the render que is telling me is that my renders have failed. Any Ideas? This is in hdv aspec ratio.

Change something and see it if renders (keep open whatever your OS uses to show memory usage):
    – render at half res
    – render a short sgement (10 seconds)
    – use no lights
    – use no motion blur
    – use no effects
    – render to an image sequence
    – render to a different codec

Try one of those (at a time) to get a handle on what’s happening.

    Hi,

not quite sure, but does AE starts rendering and then breakes up after a couple of frames with an Error Message reffering to memory?
(I had that problem while trying to render a large project and it was because of lack of RAM.)

    If so try this:

While holding down the SHIFT key click EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> GENERAL.
Wait until the menu pops up an release the SHIFT key.

Now you should have a new option called SECRET.
There check DISABLE LAYER CACHE and set the number to 1 (Purge Every X Frames During Make Movie)

Example: If your render stops after 100 frames with an error set the number to 99 or (better) even lower.

    Hope it helps
