Sorry if this has been addressed, but I don’t seem to be able to find out how to upsample in Premiere Pro (CS5). I did see a rather old post that basically said one had to export to accomplish upsampling. Hopefully NOT in CS5. Specifically, I need to upsample an MJPEG 1920×720 to 1920×1080 (from a Panny GH-1). I’ve tried two things: 1)defining a custom sequence 2) just scaling with motion video effects. 1) does not do anything; 2) of course manipulates the image. Is 2) the way to achieve what’s desired? Certainly it exports just fine. If 2) is the upsampling method, is there no control over how the sampling is done, say, for example as in PS? Thanks for any help and sorry to post such an elementary question.

Here’s an article that talks about the different scaling algorithms that are used, depending on your settings and hardware:

Thank you for the very informative article. In addition to providing info re sampling algorighms, it’s getting me to re-examine the current video card and consider a replacement.
