evidently the more $ APC models have power conditioning in addition to the UPS abilities… i got a 1500VA that will do the trick until i can afford to add either the furman or one of the all-in-one APC models.

right now i’m just breathing a sigh of relief that my G5 & hard drives are on UPS! i will begin with raid 0 (backing via FW800) soon, so life is OK… until i can upgrade!
