I apologize in advance if this is a simplistic request, but for the life of me I just can’t find it in Premiere’s Help section or in the forums here.

Now, what I call “Upres” refers to when I used to cut on AVID and we would get the picture lock with the footage at a 10:1 ration then delete all the footage, keeping the timeline as is, and then recapture the footage at a 1:1 ratio.

I just cut a “test” project for a company that gave me very low res video to see my editing skill. They like the cut. So I have to relink the edits to the full HD footage they have supplied me with. When I look up “upres” on the forums here it seems that I am using the incorrect terminology. I know this can be done with XML (going from FCP to PremPro) however, I can’t find a PremPro to PremPro.

I am working in Premiere Pro CS4. It may be as simple as a link to a forum post I may have over looked. I thank you.

Sounds like you’re trying to do what Premiere calls “replace footage”:

Mike – That is very close to what I need. Thank you!
However, I have about 120-150 edits and want to know if there is a way to replace the video clips via their timecode all at once, instead of one at a time (specially since all the new video clips are named differently than the original).

The biggest problem you face is that knowing how this system works would have lead you to start editing with clips that have the same name so when relinking it all comes together very quickly as you would just be directing to another source folder (HD).

Sorry, there is no faster way to relink if you don’t have the same names. What kind if difference in naming is there?

Bridge has a fantastic ability to rename a group and find replace text. Eg find SD replace HD etc.

    Hey Jon

Thanks for the heads up. That was part of my concern as well when I started editing (the names of the clips).
I’m going to read into Bridge. I never really used it for much, but it’s exactly what I might be needing right now, thank you guys!
