our project is now ( yes, i know, foolishly… ) mixing anamorphic PD150 footage and Canon 5D footage. After reading some posts here I got Instant HD and tried upping ( after deinterlacing with RE Vision ) it way way way up to the 5Ds resolution and that was obviously a bit much for it. my next idea is bringing the 5D stuff down and the PD150 stuff up but to a lesser degree and put them both in a 1280 X 720 progressive sequence. does this sound like a reasonable compromise ?

What is your FINAL MASTER going to be? Always figure that out first, then work backwards…to figure out what you need to do to best accommodate that goal.

    Sure.
You may use Compressor, setting Control Frame ON, and Better resizing.
The DV footage will upsize better if you de-interlace it.

ok thanks for those answers. the delivery is to a film festival and i have just emailed them to get specifics. maybe going to DigiBeta would make sense in the end or just a DVD ?

on that front, if it is going to end up on a DVD is it still better to work on a progressive timeline or would it make sense to go the other way and interlace the 5D footage ?
