I have been asked to send (upload) some of my footage and they asked for; “Your original uncompressed footage (this means the best quality version that you have”. Does this mean before I render it in vegas and if so how would I do that? I am thinking I have to render into a file that is uploadable. Are the files from the transfer uploadable on there own? My camera is JVC GYHD 100 and I captured in 24P HD. Thanks

It sounds like they are requesting the output from your camera in which case Vegas is not involved. Just join a file transfer site like YouSendIt or something and upload a the camera files directly.

If they expected you to do editing, then I would output from Vegas in the same format that your camera shoots (HDV 720p).

Thank you so much. I had submitted footage to the life in a Day Project and they are considering using some of it so I wanted to get this right. I really appreciate the response. Suzanne

You’re welcome. I can see why they would just want the source from the camera as they will do the editing. Good luck.

One last question and this might seem basic but I must ask. I am uploading the .m2t files, I hope this is correct. I also have .m2t.sfko and .m2t.sfk1, what are those? Suzanne

That’s the correct file (.m2t). Any file that starts with .sf* can safely be ignored. They are various files that Sony creates for their own internal purposes. You can even delete them and Vegas will recreate them as needed.
