    Hi
I’ve just tried to upgrade from a retail version og Final Cut Studio 1 to FCStudio2
In the window for the choice of the apps to install, it let me upgrade all the applications except FCP (it says “Skip” instead of “upgrade”
I’ve tried to trash and reinstall FCP from the FCStudio1 bundle, but nothing changes and besides now when I try to upgrade to 5.1.2 it tells me that there’s nothing to install!!
I’ve tried to reinstall also the Pro Apps support: nothing
    Any idea about it?
    Thanks
    MacPro 2×2.66 OsX10.4.9 QT7.3

Yeah, upgrade your OS to 10.4.10 at least. Also, if you’re trashing stuff, make sure you remove the application support files as they sometimes keep interesting bits on programs that you don’t see.

    thanks for your answer
is it enough to trash the folder FCP System Support (in Application Support folder) or shall I delete the Pro Apps folder as well?
I’ll try to install again FCP5.1 in this way, then I’ll try also upgrading to 10.4.11 (even if 10.4.9 is given as minimum required)

I ran into a handful of problems when I upgraded to FCS 2. I ended up doing a clean instal of the OS and then installed FCS 2. I have not had any problems since. A lot of posts at the time were suggesting the same thing.
