  • Upgrading to 13…Question

I’m upgrading to Vegas Pro 13, just downloaded the install file!

    Woo-hoo!

I currently have SVP 12 and have the layout within SVP 12 the way I want it.

Will upgrading to SVP 13 mess that up? Is there a settings file that I should save somewhere then put it back in the Vegas folder upon installing to preserve the layout that I like? Or will the layout automatically be preserved?

Also, do I need to uninstall SVP 12 first? Or can I simply install over it?

    Thanks.

You can easily install Vegas 13 alongside Vegas 12 if you like.
And yes, as long as you saved your Vegas layout, you can easily
    copy it from
    C:\Users\Your computer name\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0
Its located there as your .Vegaswindowlayout file and paste it
in the corresponding Vegas 13 folder.

How do I save my Vegas layout?

Under C:\Users\Ron, I do not have an AppData folder.

    AppData is a hidden folder.

As Norman says, its a hidden folder. Go into your folder settings and
    enable the hidden folder option.

Its saved in that same directory i pointed out to you.

To save your Vegas Layout, go to View, then to Window Layouts then go to Save layout as…
