    Upgrading the RAM on a 2009 Mac Pro

    Greetings! I have been working on a project for some years now, using a 2009 Mac Pro with Avid 4. I have put a great deal of images etc into the project and am now editing this three hour series.

    I have recently been informed that my Mac Pro can be upgraded from 6 gigs of RAM to 16 gigs of RAM. I am told that this additional RAM will make running the project much smoother.

    I am writing to ask if anyone has any additional information to add. I know that adding RAM is pretty easy to do. I have watched my son do it on his laptop, etc. But I am hesitant to make changes in the RAM on my computer since I am not a computer expert. Nor am I an expert in the intricacies of the AVID.

    I would be grateful for any information that anybody can share!!
