  Upgrading Sony Vegas to Pro, advice and a question about rendering quality.

  Hi,

  I apologize for posting two questions, but they are interconnected with my concerns.

  I’ve had Sony Vegas for a long time and was thinking of upgrading. I was thinking of getting Adobe Premier but it is subscription only and I prefer perpetual licenses with software. I don’t want to keep paying for some software once I’ve bought it, even if it has improvements.

  My question is, will I be able to upgrade Studio HD Platinum 11.0 to a version of Sony Vegas Pro? If so, is there an option for perpetual license?

  Also, I’m wondering about the quality of rendering. For example, is the 1080 HD render in Premier the same as a 1080 HD render in Vegas?
  I don’t mean how long a render takes, but is the quality of the final result the same for different video editing packages, or do some video editing programs create degradation, infidelity or noise with their process?

  Is the render quality of Studio HD Platinum 11.0 the same as Vegas Pro for the same settings, eg 1080 HD?
