Ok, it looks like I have some time before the New Year starts to finally upgrade software. Some things that I wanted to check before making the plunge. BTW, I will of course create a Carbon Clone of my system before I do anything.

    Re: FCS3
It is a given that to avoid problems down the road a clean install is highly recommended.
FCS3 no longer contains LT. I have at least three years of programs that have LT elements in them. If I need to revise these programs, is there a way to open LT files in Motion (or any other program)? I’ve seen posts that you can load LT from a previous version of FC, is this true, and can you use the upgrade software (FCS2)to do a custom install of LT, or do you need the full version?

Snow Leopard – I shoot with P2 and load to my MBP with a Duel Adapter. I’ve heard that Duel does not work with Snow Leopard. Is this true? Has a new driver been created to fix this? If not, aside from staying with Leopard, what are my options?

Are there any other gotchas ie: plug-ins etc that I should be aware of?

Thanks so much to all for your support over the years. You’ve all been a valuable source of info and reassurance.

Best wishes to you and your families over this holiday season and the upcoming year.

    Cheers,

You can always reinstall just LT from FCS2 after you install FCS3.

Duel is seems to be a dead product. Unfortunately there is nothing in that price range for P2 handling, there are a lot better things out there but they cost 10x the price. If you use P2 all the time it would be worth looking into the new Sonnet device. My workaround is I have Leopard on a pocket HD (USB) that I boot from in the field (if you wanted to do it cleaner, get a 500 internal and partition it and put the different OSs on each one.
